The thunderous FE's bottom end contains a SCAT crank, Eagle rods, 14:1 Venolia pistons and a Comp Cams .763/.787 lift solid roller cam. Up top, Jim Kuntz prepped Edelbrock MR heads and a Ford Tunnel Wedge intake with a pair of Barry Grant/Holley 660s turned sideways get the job done. With a Jerico 4-speed, Texas Thunder/Boninfante clutch and 10.5 tires. the 3350 lb. Galaxie thunders down the quarter mile in the high 9's. Mark has run Texas Thunder in both the NSCA and the NMCA series. Crewchief Richard Bell will take over the Texas Thunder driving duties in 2006 for a full-on assault of the NMCA PRO/Edelbrock drag racing series. Richard previously drove the Galaxie as daily driver with a 390/4-speed combo. In 2006, Mark will focus on his currently under-construction altered wheelbase, alky burning, injected '65 Comet.
