Mark Hatchett's Fords

Mark gets the award for the biggest collection of cool Fords, so far! Let's get right to the collection. First, we have a 1969 Shelby GT500. It is an original 428 SCJ, 4spd, 3.91 Drag Pack car. Mark has built the SCJ to run strong on Pump gas with Aluminum Heads, Sidewinder Intake, 830-CFM Competition Holley, FPA Tri-Y headers with 3 inch exhaust, 2 chamber Flowmasters with dumps, 4-speed Toploader, and a 4.10 31 spline N-case Detroit Locker. A vintage set of Ansen Ground Grabbers help with the wheel hop, and big street T/A's are on it with a set of Drag Radials for race days! Mark also has a NOS Super Power Shot 250hp Juice Kit just in case, but has never needed it!

Next up is a 1969 Boss 429 Race car updated to 1970 appearance. It is thought to have possibly been a factory sponsored drag car. Mark has no documentation as of yet. It is still lettered as it was last raced in NHRA E/altered, campaigned in Las Vegas by Darin Paschall. He went on to run Pro Stock later in a Pontiac (boo!). This is a real Boss 429 with correct shock towers and staggered shocks, you can still see where the door tag and the KK sticker were. If anybody recognizes the car, let us know. Any help on this car's history would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Mark's next ex-drag car is documented, and was raced by a well-known Ford factory driver. This 1966 Ford Factory Sponsored and Holman Moody-Stroppe prepared Galaxie was run by Ed Terry of Ford Drag Team fame. It is a body in white that ran everything from a Cammer to a Hi-Po 289 with Webers, with which it was a record holder running in C/FX. It still has much original lettering. It ran at the Winternationals in Pomona and all over the West Coast. Home track was the now defunct Fremont Raceway/Baylands Raceway in Fremont, California.

If these three aren't enough, Mark also has a street Boss 429, 2 more Shelby's, 2 Torino Cobra's, 2 J-code '71 Cougar's, '69 S and R code Mach 1's, '72 R-code 351-HO Convertible Mustang, and a bunch of other "less notable" but neat old Ford's, as Mark puts it!
