GREEN VALLEY RACEWAY 1960-1986

Green Valley Raceway opened in 1960 and offered both a road course and
a 1/4 mile drag strip. Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles raced the new Shelby
Mustang on the road course for the first time in February 1965. Green
Valley continued on through the early eighties. I visited the track and
captured some fast Fords running there in 1981. Green Valley closed in
1986, and has since been demolished. Only remnants of the track surface
remain. RIP Green Valley.
