SECRET WEAPON.....This rather unassuming looking '69 Mach I came to Hot Rods Drag Week and dished out quite an ass-wipin' to the big-tired Mopars and Chevys in the normally aspirated big-block class. While the competition was busy replacing broken water pumps, and rebuilding engines in the middle of the night, Jay Brown was fiddling with a loose trailer hitch on his Mustang! The FE dinosaur performed flawlessly on all 5 drag strips and the countless miles of highway between them. Here's shots from the final day of the 5-tracks in 5-days format Drag Week as Jay and his all-aluminum 511-inch Ford FE rips off three runs in the 10.70's and takes the top prize. Is the old FE really "Finally Extinct" like Hot Rod Mag said in a recent issue??...Not exactly.
