"Thought I would send you a couple of pictures of another true Dearborn built Race car. This is a 1969/70 Boss 429 car # 003 prototype built in early '69 for the '69 and '70 race seasons. Dearborn Steel Tubing and Larson Engineering did some work on the car, with their work still evident. The car has 236 race miles and is as last raced in the 1973 NHRA Eastern conference finals. This car has never been restored, detailed or modified in any way since 1973. The pictures show a leaf spring front suspension, homemade wheelie bars, fuel injection, and the really cool front of the tire Larson exhaust. This car was purchased from the Patrick family and has not been shown or driven since 1975. This car was raced with the Ford supplied Boss9 and an injected wedge 429. The NHRA decal picture were taken from the garage wall when I purchased the car. The Larson exhaust pictures show the ingenuity and experimentation done. This car is still stored less than 2 blocks from where it was built and worked on". Thanks, Ken Costella 2/6/10 |
